Just saw at Cinequest film festival. Zhang Yimou is back to his 90s and early 00s level film making. Some of the the best cinematography I’ve ever seen.

Just saw it in a Chinese theater, bloody and brilliant, some fantastic scenes, and a little confusing plot but doesn't detract from the sheer force and beauty of the film. If you like wuxia movies (or GoT, which I believe influenced Shadow), don't miss it.

Saw this in Venice. If you love martial arts/wuxia movies, you definitely have to check this one out. The last 40 minute fight scene is so ridiculous (in a good way). To prove my point, I‘ll just say one word: Blade-Umbrellas. Nuff said.

Watched it. Beautiful cinematography human being talking and talking.. some random guys talking... oh and a girl talking... and more people come out of nowhere and they talk.. and there is rain... oh wow some random fight scenes! This is art hope you guys enjoy the film.

A truly horrific movie. Sun Li’s heartbreaking beauty is going to haunt me for awhile. It’s kinda like how a nightmare only begins to make sense at the end.

Just watched this film last night. Although the cast is a little bit weak at times throughout the film (compared to Hero, but who am I kidding Tony Leung and Jet Li are unparalleled), still the film is outstanding with breathtaking visuals and cinematography, intense action sequences and unpredictable plot. Enjoy it a lot. Zhang Yimou did it again.
