16 bit : Nice
8 bit : Efficient and OK
4 bit : *MEMES AND EARRAP*

I think it's amazing that the audio is somewhat determinable with just 4 bits, or 2^4=16 levels of sound pressures.

one of the most valuable and straight forward information producer teaching channels out there. you have my mad respect for sharing such quality information

16 bits or higher: Low or no noise. Good or better resolution of quiet sounds.
8 bits: Audible noise that changes with sound. Less resolution for quiet sounds.
Below 4 bits: Extreme noise artifacts. Quiet sounds are lost.

0:33 this representation of noise floor very much cleared up my lack of understanding on this! Now I see why the dB numbers appear to work in an "inverse" way compared to how the visualizer appears to work. Thanks!

Dozen of articles and comments read, hardly able to understand anything, one 3 minute video and got it 100%

I just wish the music material were the same across all bit rates. That would have been perfect, but thank you for the resource!

2:05 Yes, high-res audio will have a bit depth of 24 bit and a sample rate of 96 KHz or 192 KHz, best for professional sound studio.

Large error means 4-bit audio, medium error means 8-bit audio, low error means 16-bit audio, and no error means 24-bit audio.

0:15 16-bit audio should be fine with dynamic range of 96 dB, but 24-bit audio will have a higher dynamic range of human hearing, which is 145 dB.

You can get 4 bits to sound better if you normalise the volume level before reducing the bit depth.

pls sayd me WHERE YOU GET THIS PROGRAM FOR THIS???

Bit deap shoul not effect dynamic range a specialy with 8 bit encoding . Umfortunatly most of the ADC use liniar amplitude encoding. That the main reason you can hear the noise.

There's a 128 bit depth in audio right?

Now if you take 1 bit and modulate it at say 500 Khz you can have just as good (almost) as 16 bit audio. Class D amp.

If we remove the bit depth from sample rate and playing only through sample rate

but where can we actually see what bit depth our imported audio actually has in ozone 8?

Actually, you threw away almost two bits on every sample by only using roughly 1/4 of the amplitude range. Note how the 4-bit sample at 1:44 only uses 5 different sound pressure values although 4-bit gives you 16. So 16-bit in your example is more like 14-bit, your 8-bit like 6-bit, and your 4-bit like just 2-bit. If you had peak normalized properly, the 4-bit one woud've sounded a lot better.
