Out of the 25 or so places I've spent time in Mexico, Oaxaca is my favorite, followed closely by Puebla and Guanajuato

I pay 8, 500 pesos a month(about $500) for rent on a nice apartment in Oaxaca city about five blocks from the Walmart. It is a nice place and quiet most of the time. However, there are no parks that I know of near me.

Definitely on my bucket list. I live in Morelia, another beautiful colonial city …but have yet to get to Oaxaca. The food culture there seems so much more interesting than here in Morelia. A friend of mine lives in Oaxaca and has recently been concerned that it’s become way too touristy.

Love the video! They have excellent restaurants there!!! Noticed the Airbnb's seem pricey, but maybe a good start to find a place to rent or buy. Thanks!!!

Another impressive and informative video. You, by far, do the best informational content on travel that I’ve seen on YouTube or TV. Keep it up!

This was a very informative video. I’m going to spend 4 months this winter in a town called Soledad Etla. About 12 miles from Oaxaca center. I don’t know anything about it really but I just took a chance and booked it. It was cheap, and the host seems really nice. (Homestay) I didn’t want to spend much money sleeping as I’m really going for the food and laidback Mexican culture.

Dear amigo : my wife (Canadian born) and myself (Uruguayan born) are about to retire and we are looking to do it in Mexico, particularly in Veracruz.
We really like your approach on the information on this video and wonder if you have any knowledge of that particular port city.
Greetings from Toronto.

Was there for three weeks in June. Not as cheap as I expected. Need to be flexible and know someone to get a good rental. Would go back in winter but summer was miserable with no AC

Very informative video! The moment I thought "yeah, but what about..." you were covering it. Looking forward to seeing more of this community. This region has been on my must-check-it-out list for a while and I think you just bumped it up a notch or two. Quick question on rentals: if I'm looking for something for 1 - 3 month trial residency, is it best to talk with a local real estate agent, walk the streets looking for private rentals, check out airbnbs? What's your recommendation?

This ia an amazing Video. Most informative and well researched. Most appreciated. Just hope this place doesn't become Californicated. What resources (besides Facebook) are available to the expat community? Thank you, Jim.
