This video shows you step by step how to make your our DIY Eurorack modular synthesizer case.
Make anything into a Eurorack case! These rails are cut to length for use in whatever DIY housing you like: a suitcase, coffee table or Grandma's meatloaf pan.*

Sold in pairs. Use the quantity to select your length in HP (1HP = 0.2 inches). For example, "Quantity: 40" would be 40HP. "Quantity: 300" would be 300HP. Maximum rail length is 300HP.

I have used this trick to remove adhesives in the past: Smear the glued areas with mayonaise and let it sit about 15 minutes to a half hour. The acidity of the mayo dissolves a lot of adhesives and makes it easier to scrape the gunk off. I have cases just like yours I have to do this with, so I haven't tested it on this particular adhesive, but it works like a miracle removing old bumperstickers and things like that.

Nice tutorial. I bought a 7u 84 hp waterproof case 2 years ago exept that the bus board where double sided taped and they began to come off... I have super glued them to the bottom of my case and voila!

Steve, I wanna see this finished case! Something like that, that's the ticket man. I wanna look in that direction. 7U and that's just on the bottom...yeah that's excellent! Great video.

This is great! Just got an old fiberglass ecs case that was made for HP (also $5!!) Top and bottom are equal depth.

I like how tight everything is; the yellow is great.

Your video was right on time, just got my old telecom case out of storage (same as the one your working on) and I'm going to order and install the rails. Can you show the finished modular setup?. I'll show you mines if you show me yours.

This is rad cause it goes through all the nasty little bits that make this stuff hard to dive into. Thanks.

Great video. It would be cool to see the rest of the process all the way to the final finished case. Not sure if you filmed it however or if you've already finished it.

Great video and ideas! Quick question about doing more than one 3U rail kit. Do they need to be grounded to each other? I see some builders put a wooden strip on the sides to screw each one to vs rack rails. Thanks

Cool video, having your modules on the go in a sturdy case is very nice.

But you might want to finish your house first :-p

When will these rails be back in stock?

Hey! Thanks for this video!
What would you recommend as a minimal distance, from the bottom of the case, up to the top of the rail?
Like, considering all of the modules are skiff friendly.
Thanks!

Thanks for the great video DIY case run through! I was just wondering from your years of experience with DIY eurorack, what dimension depth wise do you personally look for from the top of the rail (panel level) to the bottom of the case and roughly in between top and bottom sections to be able to close the case with leaving the patches connected?
To simplify my question further, what are the dimensions of that really sweet yellow case you thrifted for a fiver?
Thanks Steve!
