Buzzfeed Unsolved Solved A Case

I worded that wrong but i meant the mafia in the town who owned the coroner and police and fire dept, probably stole the kids and sold them instead of killing them.
children sold to the mafia, no evidence of bones, eyewitnesses spotted the children, no adult would let them talk to the children when confronted...Very common in the '30s, '40s, and '50s for women to either sell their babies or have them taken by Goons.

They have actually solved every case so far, , , , but for the sake of their brand they have to pretend they haven't

I feel like a lot of these unsolved cases would be solved if the police did their job correctly.

So many "unsolved" cases would be solved if literally any of the law enforcement involved had just one competent person

"Uh, boss, we got a report from the guy who threatened the family involved in the case, and he said it was an accident. Oh yeah, he was also a life insurance salesman for those people. Yeah, we still don't know who it is"

When two goofballs solve a case that's been unsolved for over 30 years in the span of 15 minutes, faster than any police, detective, or investigator ever could, on one of those said goofball first episode.

The fake heart/liver was the best part of that episode. Also the detective that went missing lmao

I'm from WV, and let me tell you this; police/fire/ambulance/etc here get to your home in under 5 minutes (unless you're in one of the "big cities", which aren't big at all, but still it would only take maybe 20 minutes total in the worst case scenario). The fact that it took authorities HOURS to get to the house - even if it were the 30s/40s - is sus enough to let me know that this was something the authorities knew about. In a lot of small towns here, it's about who you know, and who you're friends with. Perhaps the Sodder patriarch wasn't friends with the 'right people' and they took it out on the kids, and had the authorities help to cover it up.

Ah the oldest rule of True-crime.

Criminals aren't smart or cunning, law enforcement is just woefully incompetent.

I love Shane and Ryan. They're such light hearted and funny people to be taking on such dark topics

i will never get over "your children are going to be destroyed" sounds like a villain on a kids show

Police in media: The killer is incredibly smart, we need to be 10 steps ahead of him.

Police in real life: Let’s just ignore the life insurance salesman that very specifically threatened the victim shortly before the fire. Except when we’re letting him determine the fire was an accident, of course.

I was so sad when I first read about this case. Terrible tragedy compounded with every official doing the exact opposite of what they should have done. And the parents never stopped looking and hoping.

Wait is this 100%?

Like they _actually_ solved it?

My favorite instance was the Jack the Ripper case when they suggested it could’ve been a cop who did the killings.

Shane’s laughing out loud moment is the best. I come back to this video from time to time to emotionally recharge by watching this.
