Money saving expert Martin Lewis appeared before a parliamentary select committee this week where he was asked if Brexit is responsible for some of the hard ache people are facing and Martin gave a wonderful reply.

He said others more knowledgable than him need to be asked.
He is an expert on home finances.
And those have been bu&&ered by Brexit.

Massive respect to Martin Lewis as always. Shame Government ministers can't do the same. Truth leads to an appropriate and informed decision on how we as a population live our lives - even if that truth is bad news. Sadly, they only speak on ideology and self-centered motivation - something tells me that they benefit from the chaos and uncertainty they create.

Actually he doesn't give his opinion on Brexit - except by omission. But unlike the ERG/Tory party, he knows his limits, whereas they are Dunning -Kruger cases.

The biggest loss for me is my loss of freedom of movement. I am restricted to the Schengen agreement. No big deal for many folk who don't travel but a real issue for me and millions of others who travel to the EU each year.
The loss of the ECHR will affect anyone who can not receive proper support through our own laws.
This country is a third of a way through self destruction mode.
Martin Lewis is the most articulate and straight forward person I have ever listened to.

Max, given everything UK stands to lose by leaving UE, I find it absolutely unbelievable that so many people, (even intelligent folk) STILL think BREXIT was a) the right thing to to, & b) still regard it as a success. I worry for the mental state of many of my fellow Brits, I really do. Especially, (and lets be honest here) given the vast amount of "faux news", being broadcast, even if only 50% is true, surely there must be alarm bells ringing !

The committee may want to speak to the FT, as they recently did an article; no paywall; on the impact of stagnant wages and ill health on society and the wider impact this has on the economy.

He's basically saying, "It's shit, but how shit partly depends on how much deregulation you nutbags end up allowing and if you do what you say you're going to, it will be totally shit.". I agree. I missed this Max, thanks for posting it.
