This video was a big help. I'd never have figured out to pop the scanner off on the right side on my own. One thing I would like to add is that when reconnecting the scanner it will be simpler to attach it first and then hook the cables to the board through the open control panel, rather than trying to reach under the scanner while holding it open.

Omg, thank you so much for this video. My printer started jamming as the paper tried to feed. The paper would barely go halfway and stop. We noticed a bad crinkle in every piece of paper in the same spot on the left, close to the roller, but not directly in liine with it, so we tried card stock and it did the same thing. We were able to take it apart, and insert the cardstock part way into the feed to see where the crinkle lined up, and looking inside from the front of the printer, we saw something black. We tried to move it but it was stationary, so we thought it was part of the printer. From the front we saw that it was definitley blocking the paper path, so we pushed harder with a butter knife and it came out!! It was some kind of plastic cap that had fallen into the paper feed, and the more times I tried to print, the farther it was getting wedged into the printer. it doesn't even look like part of the printer, which makes no sense. My printer is on a raised stand, about 10 inches above my computer desk, so I can store things under it. There's nothing above it for it to have fallen from. It's a crazy mystery, but I'm so grateful we were able to fix it because I just installed brand new ink cartridges 2 weeks ago, and I didn't want to waste $55.00 in ink!!

I had totally messed up my printer by opening it. It wouldn't work as some mentioned. However, i was able to reconnect everything, and it works. Thanks for the video.

I had the 'paper jam' code, but could find no jam. There was a white nylon drive gear for the path feed that had not completed its cycle. I spun the gear a couple of teeth to manually complete the page feed cycle. The yellow warning light stopped blinking & the printer came back to life. Thanks for this tutorial.

Mine just has a solid yellow warning light. I've already bought another printer and I suspect my ten year old Pixma MG2950 has bricked itself so I can have some "fun" seeing if I can bring it back to life. I did manage it once, but not sure how I did it. Then when I powered off again it died again when I turned it on again, so I've nothing to lose by having a go. I havn't even opened the box on the new printer yet.

Thanks for the video. It was very useful. I'm wondering how to clean up "ink absorbers" in this model. I've seen another video, but the ink absorbers were right below the cartridges, but in this model, it's different and my fingertips aren't reaching there from outside the printer through the hole for changing cartridges.

I have one of these. It makes one or multiple loud banging noises after turned on and before it starts to print. It has done that since new. It only prints about 20 pages on one black cartridge and the color cartridge runs out before the second black cartridge does. So it loves to drink ink.

That long white part that holds the rollers in front of where the paper usually sits won’t stay where it should. It’s flush against the back when there should be a bit of space for the paper. And I have no idea how to fix it. It was fine before I opened it up to get a piece a plastic that had fallen inside. Did I loose a part? Is there somewhere that it connects that I’m just not seeing?

Hi! I'm new to your channel but I can see how useful your tips are. Thank you! Another thing is, that my Canon Pixma MG2460 cartridges are not recognized by my printer and I was new to refilling them. I didn't realize there was too much dried ink inside before adding ink to them. The dried-up ink inside turned almost like a rigid polyurethane foam because it stuck for about 3 months in a 36-40-degree room. Do you think the warm water with a solution would work if I tried it? It costs a lot of money to get a new one. Hoping for an answer. :)
