I have read 70 books so far in 2022, and over half of those have been 2022 releases. I talk about 2022 releases so often, that it just makes sense. Now that it is almost halfway through the year, I thought it would be fun to tier rank all of these books!

Wow you’ve read so many new releases! I’ve been really eyeing Legends and Lattes lately. I feel like I’m in the mood for cozy fantasy.

This is so interesting! I need to save it in my watch later videos lol. I've only read Daughter of the Moon Goddess and Not the Witch You Wed, and I liked them both. (The second one was more my fave.)

For this year, these are my other faves: all of the Ghoulia kids' books, The Dead and the Dark, Burden Falls, The Lost Apothecary, Float Plan, The Girls Are Never Gone, The Witch King, This Poison Heart, The Bone Spindle, The Strange Case of the Alchemist's Daughter, The Forever Dog, Ship of Smoke and Steel, How to Make Friends with the Dark, Bright Ruined Things, Kingdom of the Cursed, Monday's Not Coming, A Touch of Darkness, The Bone Houses, The Matchbreaker Summer, The Dare, A Taste for Love, Light From Uncommon Stars, It Happened One Summer, Bad for the Boss, Come Find Me, and The Wizards of Once. Some are older than 2022!

Yay for T. Kingfisher rabbit holes! And agreed on The Maid, it's easily my least favorite new release of 2022 so far. I haven't had a ton of success with new releases so far this year so I'd probably have to say my favorite is either Justice of Kings (which I'm feeling increasingly meh about the longer it is since I read it) or The Long Game by K.J. Parker which has a very particular appeal. I liked but didn't love Legends and Lattes as much as most people seem to. Just never really felt connected to the characters so it was just enjoyable for me.
