Ive got over 100 of these bottles cut open, full of rust and dirt, cheapest material. This is why I stand them up, in hopes that hte liquid doesnt force dirt down the lines into the regulator.

Im trying to connect a 1 lbbottle to my heating torch. THe adapter would be a double female. Can you trl me if such a thing exists and if so where can i get one? At 80 its a little hard to drg a 20 lb bottle around to burn weeds:) Many thanks

New to gas grills. Always been a charcoal bbq'er but our new building
does not allow charcoal grills. Wish I had known that before I moved in.

Anyway, I bought a portable gas grill and hooked up a 1 lb propane
canister using a steak saver adapter on the connecting hose which came
with the grill.

When I went to disconnect the tank after grilling some chicken, there was a bit of hissing and some icy cold substance which got onto the regulator. It, of course was melted within 4 minutes. So, did I do something wrong or is that normal? Was I supposed to relieve pressure somehow?

Also, can you run down the proper order for disconnecting one of these tanks? Obviously first thing is to turn off the flame using the grill knobs.

Can I use a one pound propane bottle to power my Champion, dual fuel, inverter generator? I ran it for 5 hours off a 20 lb tank used 1.1 lb of propane.

Hey John, thanks a lot for this tip- been looking for an adapter that does just this for a while. Any chance you've seen an adapter like this but with a shut off valve? Or maybe a shut off valve that fits in-between the hose and the adapter? I'm trying to use this method to connect a colman camp grill to a 1lb tank but put a hose in-between it. Thanks for the info. I have a supply of the smaller bottles, and figured it would be nice to have a backup for the grill in the event of an emergency, or a cookout and the main bottle runs out. I want another 20lb bottle, but damn if I can find one for less than $50. Meanwhile, I got 10 pounds of propane in 1 pound Coleman bottles. and now you tell me I can refill those with another adapter. Wow.

Can I use this adaptor for an rv fridge? My camper originally had an ice box but I got a propane fridge recently and contemplating my options between something like this and splicing into the original LP copper hose.

I tested a 1lb tank on the stove and the regulator seems to limit the flow and won’t light the burner at all.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated
