I list out what you need to know as a Vtuber. I’ve accumulated over 1000 hours of streaming and content creating experience as a Vtuber across a whole year and this is some tips I would give to anyone thinking of starting their own journey!

I’m so glad I saw this. Honestly I’m starting to get discouraged because I don’t see growth in my journey. I realized I’m just rushing myself. Thank you for the tips! I learned something 😊

5:00 For this tip, try not to be intrusive, one time I was checking smaller streamers and one of them kept asking really personal questions or asked and waited in complete silence. Dont make it the whole focus of the stream or it'll be a bit akward for the person in the chat. This is just my case as I'm someone who prefers watching rather than writing, but don't force people to talk or respond and you'll be good :D

Ok, so if anyone new is finding this and seeing this comment: This video is perfect.

For what it's worth I've been a Vtuber for nearly Two years now and I've experienced all of what is discussed and can attest that all of it works. Because it's worked for me.

Follow this dudes advice!!

I want to add something; if you want a model or a design for you vtuber you can look for rejected or retired vtuber designs! I actually bought a retired vtube psd file for 150 and all I need is the rig for it! ♡

I primarily play identity v which is similar to dead by daylight, it made me a small community but I felt a bit burnt out a while back. I tried a different game, and told my regulars that its okay if they would rather tune off and only watch my idv stuff instead
ill never forget when they all told me they were there for me, and the games i play was just a bonus for them :(

I think an important thing that wasn’t mentioned is that you need to mentally prepare yourself for the fact that success tends to come and go. Not every stream will be bigger than the last, and not every video will perform as well. If you have one stream that goes really well, definitely review it and see if there’s any feedback you can take and apply to your next stream, but don’t burn down your entire schedule or structure to try to chase something that might not even be there. It’s possible that, for no particular reason, the algorithm made you the golden boy for a minute - savour it, but don’t beat yourself up over it when it goes away. It is really, really hard, especially when you’re just starting out, to see your analytics going crazy for a week or two only to watch them fade back into your old numbers - but remember, if you did it once, you can do it again. It’s easy to get demotivated and feel like you’ve failed even if it’s legitimately just the algorithm deciding it doesn’t like you right now. Or maybe people just aren’t interested in what you’re making right now - I follow lots of people who I’ll follow religiously for a few months and watch everything they do, and then spend a couple months kinda uninterested, and then eventually come back. They didn’t do anything wrong, and their content wasn’t bad or boring, I just had a different taste for a while.

I've viewed this video multiple times to keep myself motivated and mentally prepare that i won't ALWAYS get views and to enjoy the process to continue!
The video really says a lot to me!

I’ve actually been streaming for 2 years but I still needed to watch this video because I recently decided to become one since I’d rather not show my face. However, the thing about streaming 3 times and then being silent for months after kinda felt like a personal attack HAHA

Connections are also a great way to get viewers.
I get a new VTuber friend too.
The only downside to having a lot of VTuber friends is that it increases the likelihood of people neglecting to follow the "don't talk about other VTubers" rule.

I want to give my thank you to you for this video. Last summer, when I was looking into Vtubing, I remember finding this video and it has helped me TREMENDOUSLY! Your advice really stuck with me and although I took a risk and DOVE into Vtubing, I'm having such a blast. I made my starter goals and all because I didn't stress about the viewer count and continued to watch my own content to further improve myself. Thank you and look forward to more of your videos!

I've decided to rig and create a unique model with my cam and vr system for fun. Somehow I fell into this world and I like it. Also had no idea who you were, no offence <3 I hope you get even more recognition, But I'm glad I did now and I'm happy I went down this rabbit hole. Your videos are well thought out and very useful. Thanks

This was a nice set of tips, thank you! I recently started my journey, drew the character, rigged the model, made the music, and I look forward to growing and producing content. I'll be keeping the things said here in mind while I work my magic!

Thank you for sharing these with us. I experienced burnout first-hand and took a 2-3 month break from streaming, which I had NEVER done before that, when I would stream almost every day to barely any viewers if not none at all. I'm coming back the 25th for a streamathon and after that having a consistent but smaller stream schedule.
