Trees are the only valid carbon capture. Designing a machine that will produce carbon to reduce carbon will never be as effective as taking care of the carbon sinks that already exist (peat bogs, mangroves, forests)

Heavy pollutors are really pushing carbon capture to justify continuing current population. The issue is that the research isnt very strong and would take too long to advance the technology before climate change becomes irreversible.

It's possible to Suck carbon dioxide from atmosphere directly, heat also can be sucked up from atmosphere and stored for longterm for future future energy requirements.

the worst part of carbon sequestration is its place in greenwashing. many corporations will plant trees in one part of the world to cover up using unclean methods in operations or relying more heavily on fossil fuels elsewhere. companies need to both invest in clean energy/methods and meaningful carbon offset projects
