Slight correction: It is not that your MSc from India is not counted in Universities in the west when you apply for a PhD. Over there when a student applies for a PhD the number of academic years until your masters spent has to be 18 (which is Bachelors of 4 yrs and Masters of 2 years). Here in India an MSc in Maths student would have spent 17 yrs and that's why the student has to study for one more year. So for this it's not necessary that the student spends 1 year MS abroad before applying for PhD. This would be an expensive option. Rather the student has an option to study 1 yr full time say in any course related to Advanced Maths and Stats here in India (for example - Advance Diploma in Stats or even 1 yr of full time course in Data Science) and then apply for PhD abroad. This would help save a lot of money

My question to you is if somebody completes b. ed after Msc whose concepts till class 12th are clear..but his concepts after 12th level (bsc and msc level) are not good..When he will give interview in school will he be asked questions till class 12th or till Masters?

I need you suggestion, Actually my brother is planning to take the JAM exam in 2022 but he is confused which stream to opt from Mathematics or Statistics.
Could you please help us, which one is best to get the admission in any of the IIT.
As per our Knowledge in statistics there are very few seats in IIT as compare to Mathematics.
