The U.S. seized a plane used by Venezuela's leader, Nicolás Maduro, and flew it to Fort Lauderdale, Florida. The jet was allegedly illegally purchased and taken out of the U.S. in violation of sanctions. The seizure comes as Venezuela is still reeling from disputed elections earlier this year.

😮How does the customs officer enter the plane, when the plane is in the duty-free zone, that is, it is not on a domestic flight in the USA? Also, I don't understand how diplomatic staff who live outside their country are paid? And, is the Dominican Republic one of the sites of the US?

There is a TV show called “Plane Repo” that recovers planes for the banks. Every runway strip has plane spotters looking at the plane’s tail numbers to make a buck by dropping the dime to the plane repo companies. Looks like the plane spotter got a big payday by dropping the dime to the Feds. The Feds give a bigger payday based on the jet’s selling price.
