What's behind the U.S. seizure of Nicolás Maduro's plane

The U.S. has seized a plane belonging to Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro over alleged sanctions violations. The jet in question has been transported from the Dominican Republic to Florida. CBS News correspondent Cristian Benavides has more from Fort Lauderdale.

Air Force One is not owned by the US President. It is owned by the American government. This is a private plane that was sold and transferred thru a number of shell companies and registered in the Iralian micro state San Marino.

Technically, legally, this is an asset seizure and forfeiture not much different from drivers getting their cash and cars impounded because a drug dog alerted on it during a traffic stop. And 13 million dollars - the supposed list price, not what the plane will sell for at a future auction - is not that much money after Homeland Security starts reimbursing itself for "necessary and customary" expenses.
