Legacy of Grabbag - Duke Nukem Theme Metal Cover Medley

Voidpoint (the creators of Ion Fury and EDuke32, the source port of Duke Nukem 3D's Build engine) contracted me to record and produce a rework of the Duke Nukem theme song "Grabbag" (by Lee Jackson) as a medley of the many variations of Grabbag to be used as a replacement title theme for an officially licensed port of Duke Nukem 3D for the Android platform. It was set to include not only the full 4 episodes of the Atomic Edition of the original game but also the Sunstorm Interactive licensed expansions (Duke it Out in D.C., Nuclear Winter, and Life's a Beach - Caribbean Vacation), Duke Nukem 64, and Duke Nukem: Total Meltdown (with the exclusive Plug And Pray episode). It was to be named the "Hail to the King Collection."

Unfortunately, it was cancelled. But with permission from Voidpoint, I'm thrilled to be able to release it for all to listen to. This theme is actually a rerecording (with a few key changes) of an old metal medley I made of various Duke Nukem themes for fun as a Dwelling of Duels entry for Free month Dec 2007. (Yes, I forgot Manhattan Project in the medley. I realized this years ago. I apologize. lol)

Been getting a lot of views on this lately and I just wanted to say thank you all for all the love! I posted this in 2016 but I've never gotten as many views in as short a time on any video I've done than this one. I want to get back to doing more covers like this. It's long been requested that I do a full-length cover of the Duke3D bonus/level stats theme on its own and I'd love to give that a shot and see how I can develop it. As I clear some other projects off my plate, I'll be coming back to doing game metal covers. Hope you stick around. :)

Hands down the best cover of Duke Nukem's theme I've ever heard. It goes ham from the first note and doesn't stop to catch its breath until final chord drops the end of the song on your head like an anvil.

It really makes you want to kick ass and chew bubblegum, only to realize your options are limited by a personal shortage of gum.

I first discovered Duke Nukem when I was 11. My dad bought my mother and me a new pc and he showed me cd that had Duke Nukem 3d on it (as far as I remember that was original). I only played the first level of the game because it was late already and I had to go to bed. Then I forgot about the game. Now here I am 8 years later and I'm having a Duke Nukem brainrot for like 3 months now and realised how good this game was and how badass Duke is! Then I began to listen to the game's theme song and I found this masterpiece. I literally listen to it EVERY DAY!
