I put out a tweet the other day asking what song I should do with my new Schecter E-1 Apocalypse. Someone actually said this one, which was a song I had planned to do very soon anyway, so it was perfect! I've only played a little bit of Duke Nukem in the past, but it was enough to learn how iconic the main theme to this game is.
I very wrongly underestimated the composition though, it's a very dense song with tons of stuff going on so I thought it'd also be a good test for my new tones and mixing template to see just how thicc I can get. The last part has a three part guitar harmony with a counterline that's ALSO harmonized, all over synths and rhythm guitars and bass all doing different stuff! It got absolutely crazy, but I think Duke would approve.
It was also one of the hottest video shoots I've done in a while, that room gets VERY hot now that it's July! If you look closely maybe you can see the sweat dripping off my face! Hope you enjoy my take on this classic tune!
