Respect The Gods But Don't Count On Them

Miyamoto Musashi was one of the most famous samurai warriors to of ever lived and one of the key principles he left behind was “Respect the gods without counting on their help”

Let me explain..

What Musashi is trying to highlight here is that regardless of what powerful entity you may believe in, It’s very important to not forget that your own life’s journey and power resides within yourself - not just in God.

It is said that God only helps those who help themselves and it’s only those who are willing to take the step forward on their journey that are rewarded

Now this doesn’t mean that you shouldn’t ask, pray and worship God to help you with life - but you need to understand that the only way to truly bring change about in your life, is to actively take positive action towards what you want.

Respect the Gods by all means - if you believe - but ensure that you also believe in your own self and ensure every day that you are taking that positive action to complete your life’s journey and achieve that self reliant warrior spirit.

Unfortunately, even some religious people have to be told this. They think that if they pray hard enough, that their god/God will take care of everything for them. Whether you're religious or not, life doesn't work that way and you can't expect life to just drop what you want out of it into your lap. We have to work for it, regardless. Excellent content, BTW.

0:33 I know it was the obligatory "do if you want" but in my view you shouldn't, this kind of thinking is self destructive, it's counting on something totally unreliable. If you reach a point were you need to pray you lost, you abandoned reasoning. Even manga Musashi lamented "it seems like the only thing remaining is to pray."

But religious people are going to do it anyway. Perfect message overall, you will change and save lives with this channel.
