I don't think any clamp on meter will accurately measure milliamps short of spending thousands on a process meter. They dift around too much. Would be better to connect a meter in series to measure. But need to make sure you meter can handle the amount of current your expecting or you'll be blowing fuses in the meter.

this is if not THE best rated alternative, then one of the best alternatives to the $200+ ones from the likes of fluke and fieldsense meters. I has been tested by many reputable ACTUAL electronics engineers here on YT with professionally graded testing equipment and been found to have accuracy right up there with those other "name brands" as you call them. ALSO... you know... there was a manual right there included in the packaging... wasn't even a thick one.... I'm sure even the likes of you could handle it. ;) #facepalm #boombers

So your car had 200ma of parasitic current? Mine is about 130-150. I just got the HT208D for the sole purpose of measuring that. From what I read online, it should be more like 50ma. And I do suspect my car has some extra drain happening, so the meter seems to verify my suspicion. Maybe you've got even more parasitic drain going on. Did you zero it? It seemed to work well for your headlight measurement.

Keep in mind, 50ma would only be 00.05 on the display. And the spec says the last digit could be off by a count of 8. So that's a big range of uncertainty, if you happen to get a meter that is all the way to one end of its spec'd range.
