I love this because despite everything anxiety genuinely wasn't trying to be the bad guy here. She still wasn't ready to face the fact all of her efforts were hurting Riley way more than helping her.

0:59 the way ennui, envy and embarrassment all look at each other like "she did something wrong"

Everytime Riley's belief says "Im a good person..." "Im not good enough!" It gave me goosebumps

Ennui just looks like someone threw an insult at her

Anxiety: uses anxious memories to create a new Sense of Self.

Riley: Gets an anxious Sense of Self.

Anxiety: Wait no.

She probably should have seen that coming.

0:40 - The look of shock, confusion, and disbelief on Anxiety's face really nailed this scene. It's exactly what it feels like when a stone drops into your stomach.

"I'm not good enough" is basically the only line that keeps repeating in my head so this scene hurted so bad.

To those who hate or dislike Anxiety for what she did: She’s basically trying to get ready for everything that may or may not happen in the future. Anxiety’s role is to make sure Riley is prepared for everything 24/7 but because of too much pressure during the movie’s time Riley ended up having an Anxiety attack. Anxiety means so well and she is just as important as to other emotions but too much pressure can cause emotional and mental distress. People forgot to realize that Anxiety is just doing her job since Riley is now a teenager and she’s facing every challenges now. If no one is ready for that, Anxiety is. I can’t believe people cannot see Anxiety’s purpose.

Despite her actions, Anxiety isn’t a bad character nor a villain. She is just scared for Riley’s future and she has to do everything to make Riley prepared. Y’all cannot ignore the fact that Anxiety did this to you similar to Riley’s. Show some love for Anxiety for trying her hardest to protect Riley from bad situations and to finally understand the importance of Anxiety. Again, she may have done something harmful but shes still mean very well like other emotions.

Overall I feel they did a good job making Anxiety the antagonist of the film but not the villain.

Negative memories can be used as a motivator to push yourself to do your best, and that’s what Anxiety was trying to do. But she didn’t realize that too many anxious thoughts and beliefs was causing Riley to think that no matter how hard she tries she’s not good enough.

So the moment Anxiety realized what she was doing, she began to think that she wasn’t good enough for Riley. So she was anxiously trying to make Riley win and convince her she is good enough. Unaware that she can’t do that alone.

Watched this movie 2 times but still, every time I hear Riley's shaky, vulnerable and sad voice crying out "I'm not good enough", It reminds me of the worst times of my life and I just cry... because I understand the feeling of saying such things to myself over and over, until eventually you believe that the voice is telling the truth and you're worthless piece of flesh.
For anyone out there who is having the same situation, DON'T LISTEN TO IT. You can beat this. You got this. Just hang in there.

Inside Out 1 & 2...this is one of the most GENIUS ideas Pixar ever done. Period.

It's a good representación of what actually happens when you let anxiety take the lead even if you achieve the goal you've been fighting for, anxiety won't let u realize how much have u already made, feeling always like you're not good enough

I love this metaphor so much. Even though it’s a bit on the nose, I think it’s still important. When we equate our self worth to ONE thing, in this case, Riley’s ability to play hockey, and don’t allow ourselves room for failure, it never turns out well. Like. Yeah, obviously, but it’s something people do all the time without realizing it. I’m not really sure how to put into words why this message speaks to me so much, especially when told in this way, but it does. I just love how the storytelling brought it all together.

"I'm not good enough" is something I think every day and have to find other things to say.
