You wake up, alone, on a strange island full of puzzles that will challenge and surprise you.

You don't remember who you are, and you don't remember how you got here, but there's one thing you can do: explore the island in hope of discovering clues, regaining your memory, and somehow finding your way home.

The Witness is a single-player game in an open world with dozens of locations to explore and over 500 puzzles. This game respects you as an intelligent player and it treats your time as precious. There's no filler; each of those puzzles brings its own new idea into the mix. So, this is a game full of ideas.

I've heard a lot of people talking about the price... and after playing the game I would 100% say its worth $40. the sheer amount of content in this game is amazing and level design is made so well to mesh with other areas and loop around using the environment in so many creative ways. You can see how much work the devs put into it.
it's certainly not for everyone but I've been sucked into this game for hours every time I sit down to play it which is something a game hasn't done to me in a long time. I highly recommend to anyone who wants a mind busting challenge.
definitely one of my favorite games out there.

As much as I enjoyed this game, I have to say that "This game respects you as an intelligent player and it treats your time as precious. There's no filler" is a blatant lie in every possible way.
Between the Eclipse puzzle and the bridges on the Tetris island this game is full of things that clearly do not respect your time whatsoever.

This game is literally awful. Don't expect any story or explanation whatsoever in this game. Even though it says so on the store page. False advertising.
