Oh Jimmy, How I wish I had you around during the "Satanic Panic" of the 80s. I would have been spared so much anxiety, nightmares, and inner turmoil if I had learned how to think critically at a young age instead of swallowing hook, line, and sinker every one of these types of "prophesies" my sweet but ill-informed grandmother thought were vital for my salvation. Keep teaching us how to use our brains instead of our succumbing to our fears.

It is a pure delight to listen to you. Reason and Logic, scholarship and faith triumph meandering superstition and abuses of the faith so common in the www. As ever, a big thank you for another great video. I really enjoyed it as ever.

I love how much you both research and verify everything you present! You both are among my most trusted Catholic thought leaders!! Thank you for your well researched programs!

I honestly don’t see why anyone should even be concerned over this. It’s a win win for believers. If your not safe in a house with sealed curtains and no candles, you die and go to heaven. If your safe inside you make it through to live in Gods Kingdom on earth. All the evil is destroyed so basically everything’s good.
It’s like the Catholic version of the rapture. Same end result. But personally, I don’t believe either.

20 min mark is a good lecture on research

I'm glad this was discussed. I first heard about it from Laura Horn's skit. I came into the Catholic Church couple years ago and never heard of this while i was a protestant.

You mentioned Fr. Mischel. What are your thoughts on Fr. Blount's visions and exorcisms?

I would love to see a list of predicted end of days Christian prophecies that have fallen short.
Every now and then someone makes the headlines claiming that this specific day is approaching.

I thank God for Jimmy Atkins...Mr. Lofton I found not entirely receptive or respectful during Jimmy's explanation .

Michael Lofton, please act without making individuals a joke, like a teenager. Jimmy Atkins acts and speak well, giving based opinion. This approach does not insult my intelligence, nor engages my emotions, let me make my conclusion through a good presentation for my discernment and research.

Thank you for this, there's way too much "Catholic Science Fiction" getting pedaled on the web.

Thanks Jimmy, for bringing some common sense to this topic. Some people who (as Jimmy said) either make-up/embellish or add to what may be a more ordinary quote from a famous Catholic Mystic forget that some people may be very frightened or upset by these things.

Thank you. The only thing that I think could add to the discussion are the points on darkness in scripture.

Could you also do an episode on Garabandal and the Prophecy of a Pope Visiting Moscow? The pope is visiting Mongolia and some people believe he will stop in Moscow on the way. It was said by Conchita in a long conversation with Weber in her house on November 14, 1965. It says, “The pope will go to Moscow. As soon as he returns to the Vatican, hostilities will break out in different parts of Europe.”

Back in the early 2000s my grandmother, mother and quite a number in their circle were big into the Three Days of Darkness, and "The Chastisement" as it was called. They got cheaply produced, photocopied pamplets in the mail, for a fee of course. They had blessed candle stashes, bottles of holy water, and what not. I was kinda "fire and brimstone" leaning at the time, and thought it was kinda cool, and interesting, but as the internet became more reliable and I dug into it, I realised it was essentially nonsense. A sort of "Catholic Rapture" in the mainstream Protestant sense of the word.

And this was in wee ole NZL. Over the years I've seen it pop up in various Catholic circles, and of course, recently it's doing the rounds again.
