What made my GASTROPARESIS better?!

What made my Gastroparesis (delayed gastric emptying) get better??!! From 18 to around 22 I was dealing with gastroparesis as a result of hEDS. While I still deal with minor symptoms, my gastroparesis is basically gone. In this video, I give you the timeline of my symptoms, explain when they got worse, and also explain what I was doing while my gastroparesis got better. While I can't confirm that these things definitely impacted my gastroparesis, I still hope that this video can be relatable and informational for those dealing with or curious about gastroparesis.

WHAT’S EHLERS-DANLOS SYNDROME?
The Ehlers-Danlos Syndromes (EDS) are a group of more than 13 genetic connective tissue disorders that affect the joints and ligaments, blood vessels, gastrointestinal tract, and autonomic nervous system, among others. The most common type of EDS is hypermobile EDS (hEDS), which used to be known at type III. Some of the most common symptoms and co-morbidities of hEDS include chronic joint pain, joint instability and dislocations, dysautonomia, and GI tract dysmotility.

I've had gastroparesis go over 21 years and no one unless they've been through it for that length of time I truly understand how it affects every aspect of your life in a negative way not even close

Thank you so much for this information. My wife suffers from gastroparesis and we came across this video a couple months ago and got some Betaine HCI the next day. She hasn't had a problem in 2 months now so thank you so much.

I have had gastroparesis for about 3 years now. What really helps me is regulargly doing cardio exercise (I now run 6 days a week). I don't know if it psychological but I can totally say that it helps me with creating appetite and reduce the nausea. And coffee after food also helped because it sped up the digestion.

I am experiencing similar problems for 3 years now, I have literally gone from doctor to doctor without getting a proper diagnosis. When I tell people about my issues they always blame stress and underestimate the impact of symptoms on my day to day life. It is so nice to connect with a community that is able to relate to this. Big thanks for sharing!

I literally feel your pain, girlfriend! hEDS, POTS, and Gastroparesis here! 41 years old and just finding out now what the heck is wrong with me! Thank you for sharing. The best part of getting a diagnosis is being able to connect with others who "feel your pain" because it is such an isolating condition. God bless ya sister!

I am literally crying right now. I can’t believe so many others understand what I am dealing with. The bloating is so annoying. I’m quit tiny, so my distention is noticeable. I completely stopped leaving my house other than work. I consistently get asked when I’m due, do I know what I’m having, etc. That said, I would still take that over the pain any day. I have had every test you can think of. I not only deal with gastroparesis, I just won’t have bowel movements at all. I once went 28 days. I’m constantly in the hospital. I just want a normal G.I. system like everyone else. Nobody can find a reason for any of this.

YOU SAVED MY SISTER, THANK YOU SO MUCH IZZY. My 20-year-old sister, similar to you, suffered from uninterrupted, severe stomach pain and severe nausea for almost 3 years due to gastroparesis (which by the way was super hard to diagnose). She visited probably over 50 doctors from different specialties, tried multiple medications, resorted to alternatives like acupuncture and homeopathy and nothing lessened her pain or nausea in those 3 years. Frustrated with seeing my sister suffer, I decided to look for testimonies from other people with gastroparesis and that's how I found your video. Thank you so much for sharing your story, because thanks to that my family and I decided to find out if my sister had dysautonomia and it turned out that she did. Like you, when we started treating her dysautonomia (in this case with fludrocortisone), the pain, nausea and all kinds of discomfort derived from her gastroparesis disappeared after 3 stormy years. You gave my sister her quality of life back and she, my parents and I will be eternally grateful to you. I would like to express my empathy to all those people who are suffering from gastroparesis and beg them, if it is within their possibilities, to take a tilt test to find out if they suffer from dysautonomia, since it turns out to be the origin of gastroparesis, other functional (neurological) gastrointestinal problems and many other diseases. It is a noninvasive 30-minute test and at the end it can be determined with certainty whether or not the person has dysautonomia.

I look pregnant with protein or grains. Betain HCL is great, but even greater is organic apple cider vinegar 1/2 teaspoon in warm water first thing in the morning.

I've had gastroparesis for 9 years. It's been a lot of trial and error. Betain HCL burned soooo bad when I tried it, never again. Tums was my saving grace for so long but then my calcium levels were high. My doc put me on Creon (digestive enzymes) and that made a world of difference.

Just commenting to help get this video recommended to people, it's SO helpful and even though I don't have gastroparesis but other stomach and bowel illnesses, I'm definitely going to try and get some of the things (let's just pray that they're available in my country or that there's similar stuff). I've been trying to find something that helps my nausea for so long but nothing's helped so far

I just happen to have some HCL on hand. I will start with this. I am happy you mentioned the Dr told you to increase your dosage of the HCL. I never would have taken 6 or 8 xapsules per meal. Already my stomach muscle are relaxing within just ten .minutes of taking it. . I will get the enzymes next. Thank you so much for making this video. Your story has helped me tremendously already.

I had covid. Then mono, then lost 30 lbs. and it was 6 months until I had any improvements. Then caught covid again after sinus surgery and it triggered the gastro and every single thing you said was my entire life. My jaw dropped when hearing this. I sent your video to so many people close to me just to say like hey! I’m not alone! I’m not the only one. I’ve felt so lost the past year while dealing with that flare without knowing and now am battling pots in full force and I am so ready to get through this. Thank you so much for putting my thoughts into words and speaking about it on a platform. Your videos are awesome you’re awesome. Keep being you! Thank you. ❤️🤍
