Waylon Jennings Rose in Paradise Live Perfomance 1989
Waylon Jennings Rose in Paradise Lyrics
She was a flower for the takin',
Her beauty cut just like a knife
He was a banker from Macon,
He swore he'd love her all a his life
He bought her a mansion on the mountain,
With a formal garden and a lot a land
But paradise became her prison, that Georgia banker was a jealous man!
Every time he'd talk about her,
You could see the fire in his eyes
He'd say,
"I would walk through Hell on Sunday, to keep my Rose in Paradise
He hired a man to tend the garden,
And keep an eye on her while he was gone
Some say they ran away together
Some say that gardener left alone
Now the banker is an old man
That mansion's crumbling down
He sits all day and he stares at the garden
Not a trace of her was
Ever found
Every time he'd talk about her,
You could see the fi-er in his eyes
He'd say,
"I would walk through Hell on Sunday,
To keep my Rose in Paradise
Now there's a rose out in the garden
Its beauty cuts just like a knife
They say that it even grows in the winter time
And blooms in the dead of the night

KUDOS..🌹RIP Waylon Jennings along with his American Outlaws buddies Johnny Cash, Krish Kristofferson🌺 together Willie Nelson were Country music superstars. Beautiful heart warming, soul-stirring song. Millennials this is what we call real music, unlike today's trash.

Always loved this song. Shoulda been a big hit. I first heard it in 1984 by a guy named Wendel Adkins. He may have wrote it? He sounds alot like Waylon.

Don't know what I was banking on
Banking on that banking process
To bank it in for me
Now my Rose left out of Paradise
And left that bill I made for me
What kinda banker really can I be?
A broke banker with no anchor
And no one to thank but me
Adrift sipping a cold cup of tea
On a lonesome lost and furious sea
And an exorbitant handling fee.
Though once it could have been we.
And now my eyes no longer see
And surviving my loss the dreaded fee

"The cracked bells and the washed out horns blow into my face with scorn... but I know it's not this way, I know I wasn't born to lose you"... Dylan... and we don't need to lose our country wrapped up in division..."On the darkest ocean we can be the light"... there is no freedom in division.... let Pease be the modality of our fight... it's not might makes right... it's right that makes right...and let peace be our right of passage...and let's come together not just as a Nation but as One World and not under a New World Order... but under a eorld where God is born into our hearts by this Eve's morning...on Christmas day from the Light in the Stable... that is the Staple of our hearts finest hour. Check out Emmylou Harris's version of the song "The Light of the Stable"and best of the best to all "who would enter here".
