How to wipe all data from a old Laptop

I go over 3 different methods to wipe data from a old laptop so its near impossible for data to be recovered from the laptop. These methods can be used before a laptop is sold, put in e-waste, or repurposed.

What if you do not know either password to sign into the laptop?
What if I do method #1, could/would I still be able to give the laptop away?

I plugged in the usb I had both on the usb but when I boot from the usb it says not operating system found
When I boot it normaly it shows that windows has crashed how is that fixed ?

I turned all my old computers into Best Buy recycling without removing the hard drive. Nobody told me not to, including Best Buy employees. How was I supposed to know? That's what I hate about the new technology. Nobody tells you anything.

Sorry I'm not very IT literate. I have an old laptop I used as a teenager, it died in 2017. I managed to get it to partially boot up last year and I wiped it. Iv since removed the hard drive. Is it safe for me to throw away the rest of the laptop (not hard drive)? Or could there be information stored in another part.

Hi I have a question. I have a laptop that’s still under warranty but has died. I have removed the SSD from it and backed it up to an external hard drive but now I need to send the laptop to the manufacture to be repaired with the SSD reinstalled into the laptop but before I reinstall it, I would like to know how I can wipe it so none of my data is on it, even though my laptop is dead, and will not turn on? Will reinstall a new copy of windows fully wipe the drive if i deleted all the partition first and install a new window in a newly created partition?

I ran autonuke, but I can't tell when it is completed. System has been running for about 20 hours. Lights on computer and on flashdrive are still on. Can I just pull flashdrive out of the laptop?

I have NO IDEA why this video popped up when I was looking for ways to repurpose the materials from the laptops. BUT I have to say this because it is bothering me. You have great information and you put across great. But, please! Put your reading behind the camera or on some notes in front of you because you looking at the ceiling has me so thrown off. Unless your blind. In that case, I would understand, but now the video is confusing.
