I mean - Subway should have been the sponsor for this because I had no idea about that footlong cookie! That was the main story here.

My honest guess was between $60k-$80k
They will only buy up to 60% resale value. It’s not to the benefit of the customer to trade in or sell your vehicle to a dealership. Thinking you would get a retail offer is ridiculous. They are in the business of reselling cars, you know you’re not going to get what they would sell it for…. So I’m not understanding the shock here.

$76k seems reasonable given that Carmax seems to be refusing to pay the $20k markup for foundation series models. Give it a few months and the prices will drop by $20k on all models.

76K incase anyone wants to find out right away. 6:20 is around where the price is revealed.

It’s because of the rapid depreciation and price cuts of other Tesla models which has “set the market”. Carmax is going to go with market, not anecdotal trendiness.

Cut to the chase- they offered $76, 000 which is a fair price considering they would be purchasing a car that has no warranty because the purchase and resale voids it.

My guess was $80k. Soon enough these things will be all over the place and that’s what they will be worth new.
Carmax isn’t in the business of flipping rare cars.
Fun video nonetheless!

Not surprised at all, they offered my dad $28, 000 for a 23 Tacoma fully loaded he paid $45, 000 3 months ago. Car max are equity thieves.

Tesla wants to produce 250, 000 of these per year, the current pricing won't last if that happens.

I love the new youtube update with the views updating in real time, also Carmax makes lowball offers to cars they don't want or won't sell fast on their lot

Just think how soon it will be that $76k is an awesome offer for a Cybertruck! 😂😂 So many will cry about their soul-crushing depreciation.

76K sounds about right. That way, they can turn around and sell it for profit.
Wow, I've never heard of a dealer doing this.

Well, can't repair it anywhere. You are a test mule for the al new tech. And good luck getting support from Tesla on this. So I would say Gen 1 is worth 50k at best. Good appraisal. I thought people learned their lesson to wait for gen 2 with the Model X.

Im fairly certain there's caselaw revolving around the whole "cant sell your car for x amount of years" or more importantly "you cant modify your car" while Tesla (or Ferrari) can blacklist you from purchasing from dealerships they cannot tell you what you are or aren't allowed to do with your possessions.

I never seen that color on a cyber truck before just the standard sheet metal color. It honestly looks really nice.

I just did a search and found that vehicles lose about 20% annually of the amount they're purchased for. Considering the fact that Carmax is a place that doesn't work like a dealership or 'buy here pay here' type of place - yet kinda similar, the amount they say they'll pay you is going to be a 'little' less than what they would sell it for. It's more like consignment. I'd say $76k is kinda ok, but having to own the vehicle for at least one year prior to selling to Carmax is ridiculous.

Thank you for not selling my truck 😂🤣😂

Honestly, that is right where I was expecting. I was going to say 75. Mainly because they can see what it retails at, and that is confidently what they can sell it at. The person offering 125k at the booths could be scammers. Selling overseas they could lose money in fees. This honestly just sounds right. Plus, it is good to see that they won't offer more.
