Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez Warns Veteran Democrats

"Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) is defending reports that she warned fellow House Democrats who vote in bipartisan ways that they may be 'putting themselves on a list' during an interview with NY 1.

The alleged threat came after some Democratic congressmen voted in favor of a Republican amendment to their gun control bill.

'So what happened this week was that there was a Republican procedural maneuver called motion to recommit. The thing about this is that it happens about 5 minutes before passage of major legislation. In this case, it’s ‘H.R.A.’ the gun safety legislation that advocates have been working on for years to get to the floor of the House and so for months and months people are working on this legislation,' she explained."

AOC keeps showing she's very smart and idealistic and fearless. This scares people in both major parties. She is still learning. She's going to be formidable once she's learned the system. I may not always agree with her, but oh, do I admire her for speaking out and standing her ground and being so brave to point out what needs to be fixed. That is what an elected public representative is supposed to do. Brava, keep being awesome. (Dang it, I can't vote for her, different state and district.) But I can keep an eye out, see how she does, and keep her in mind for the future. Go get 'em, AOC!

The best thing that could happen in America in 2020 is for the previously un-involved electorate to step up and send a message to ALL politicions that THEY are the one's who hire and fire politicians.
THEY are more important than influential donors.

What I'm so glad is some people are finally paying attention to Congress also. By the way, they make the law. The President can only defend an existing policy with a veto not create it.

I hope Ana is right, but in California, we had a chance to dump Feinstein and we had a 21% voter turnout... so, I'm not filled with a lot of hope and I really don't believe that my fellow Americans will step up to the plate. Apathy and ignorance has always been our greatest enemy and I don't see that changing any time soon. I hope I'm wrong
