Why I ditched my carbon plated shoes…

…for the most part.

Carbon plated shoes are an amazing tool - when used properly. But when used too frequently, can cause ‘underuse’ injuries by weakening stabilizing muscles and tissue, primarily in the lower legs and feet.

I personally moved to non-plated shoes for the majority of my runs, and turn to carbon plates for the occasional BIG session, or if I need to recover quickly after a workout.

Strengthen your feet and lower legs to prevent injury by:
🏋️‍♂️ Lifting barefoot
🦶 Working on lower leg and foot stability 2x per week
🏃‍♂️ Doing easy runs and training workouts in flexible, non-plated shoes
