In case someone else order this Mic Stand after this video, just I did, I did notice, that it was arriving today and it was able to carry the weight of wood isolation booth which is unexpected heavy and alike my old one, this still stays staight! This stand is standing out for real... Thanks for ever, that you made this practicular upload!

After years of screwing around with cheap mic stands I finally asked myself “why are you still putting up with this?!” I just ordered one of these.

This is the first video I discovered from your channel. This video has been super helpful! I started researching mic stands and comparing brands and decided to buy a K&M mic stand as my first one. I'm about spending more for better quality. Thank you so much for the advice!

I got one, and it can't hold my mic. Not even at half lenght. Always sagging, no matter what. Mic and shockmound combo is around 850g. Don't know if that's abnormally high or if i just got unlucky or something.

2:19 That´s applicable for EVERYTHING. When it comes about important stuff, buying cheap is completely pointless. If the difference is not really huge (like 5x or more), paying more means paying less, at the end of the day. If most people did that, probably there would be less products from those obscure brands around.

Didn't got a problem at all with my semi-cheap mic stand still I didn't got a shound shield, an isolation booth. This part is just way too heavy to my stand to stay straigt. I hope your recommendation will solve this problem!

Besides build quality, the reason that stand is good, is it doesn't have a common basic (I would argue engineered) design flaw that cheap stands do. On the KM, the turn knob at the point where the stand and the boom intersect is configured on the correct side. If you stand behind the stand, so the mic side of the arm booms away from you and the weight side comes up toward you, that handle should be on the right side of the stand. If you look at your cheap stands you will notice that the turn handle is on the left side of the stand. That means the downward pulling weight of the mic on the cheap stand will eventually pull the handle loose like undoing a nut from a bolt. That will cause the arm to droop. Then you keep tightening down on the stand until the joint wears out and you have to buy a new stand. That's why those cheap stands wear out so fast. The KM stand has that handle on the right side, so that the downward weight of the mic is pulling the connection between the handle and the inside bolt tighter, like tightening a nut and a bolt.

I bought a set of Hercules for my drum studio (2 tall booms, 2 short boom, mini boom and kick mic stand) and I do not like them. The short boom especially just droop no matter how much I tighten them, as soon as I let go they start sinking. Really wishing I had went for K&M, I'm really considering changing soon!

Thanks for your tip, i guess i'll be getting one of those. I am a bit stingy with money, but i'm not putting my 100$ AT2020 on a 10$ mic stand to watch it fall to it's death.
