How to Replace Crankshaft Position Sensor 2003-2021 Chevy Express 3500

This video shows you how to install a new crankshaft position sensor on your 2003-2021 Chevy Express 3500. The crankshaft position sensor is an important component of any electronically controlled ignition system. The sensor provides the computer with data about the position of the crank shaft to properly adjust ignition timing. If the sensor in your vehicle is broken or malfunctioning, you may suffer poor performance, or get a check engine light.

Once the sensor is installed, you will need to use a manufacturer scan tool to perform a crankshaft position sensor relearn.

my 2011 g2500 4.8 had an exhaust leak and melted the sensor and connector. before replacing it the tachometer was intermittent. Now that i have replaced it I cannot get a tachometer at all. It seems that I may have to relearn the new sensor. can you answer the questions about relearning the sensors?
