The staff of the music store I worked in years ago were planning to go Christmas carolling, but instead singing 80's songs in three-part harmony ("Don't You Want Me" inspired the idea).
I spun records in a nightclub for more than a decade and I'm so baffled by how the new technology looks essentially the same but is so foreign at the same time.

As a college freshman in 1990 I volunteered at the school radio station just so i could mix songs with their two Technics SL-1200MK2.

It was so freaking fun. I had a blast.

My sophomore year they replaced them with a couple Denon DN-951A with mixing board. It was easier and sounded great, but not as fun. The station tech said the turntables were just worn out and needed constant repairs.

It starts with Domino Dancing. I haven't heard that song for soooo many years but still know every word. And this wasn't even a favorite song (even if I always liked it). Songs that was popular 2-3 years ago I don't even remember any of them, song name, artists or anything.

...then it continues and I know almost every word from all the songs. I think I have every one of them on vinyl (I was a DJ) still.
I can always listen to the songs. But I want back they way of living we had in Europe back then. Life was so much happier and easier than it is today. Highlight was when me and a friend traveled from Sweden to Rimini. I lost my breath seeing all the pretty Italian girls. We recorded the music from Italian radio stations on tape and I used that tape for many years.

Today everyone just hate, arguing and the whole world is just a big conflict. I think I'm going to look for that old tape... let's hope I still have it.
