So how do you judge two dances which are completely different. I'm talking about Dan and AJ. This rumba pushed no boundaries and took very little effort on his part. As for the hip movement and Shirley's comment 'it was subtle' so subtle it needed playing at a fast speed to get some idea of it. And yet it warranted Cynthia to give him a 9! I nearly choked on my gin and tonic. And as for her giving AJ an 8 I swallowed the ice cubes in the glass! He may well have come a long way since week 1 no one can deny it. But it doesn't alter the fact that compared to the others he is way down the league.

Honestly I barely even noticed Dan in this performance because Nadiya just looked absolutely stunning and my eyes were glued to her the entire time

I don’t see the hype. The fact this man gets praised for doing the bare minimum. This narrative he’s “doing for the people who don’t have any dance training”…. Neither does AJ and she’s way more captivating. Its like they give him A’s for effort

i’m glad after looking at the comments a lot of people agree. honestly, in my opinion, he should not have made it this far. he doesn’t take any risks, he sticks to the basics. and there’s no excuse for it, he’s not too old, or injured or whatever, heck there have been paraolympians and debbie mcgie who have jumped hoops around this guy. i just feel nothing when he dances.

but i feel like this year dan has been fan favourite for never being in the dance on and also judges favourite

“oh dan you were exquisite” are we looking at the same dance? they always say the dancers are too safe yet mr basic over here gets away with it scot free. i’m on the week after this and what a surprise it’s the same. i think it’s insulting to actually allow him to skip past actual good contestants this year, not even being in the dance off, outrageous

I have to say that I really enjoy Dan's personality he is a very genuine and down to earth celebrity and ive read nothing but good things about him from people who have met him but there becomes a stage that personality is just not enough to stay. He still doesn't have finesse in his lines, there was very little hip action and it was all very stilted and Posey. I really felt Nadiya was covering him up alot she dances in front of him alot I noticed. This was alot lot lot better than I was expecting actually, it had lovely emotion and some of the footwork was nice and floaty but it just is still not there for me. I'm so happy it wasn't a cringy type of Rumba and it was a really dedicated performance but I think if he starts to go further I'll be rage quitting! Sorry Dan 😖

I give Dan and Nadiya 7 out of 10. The performance was actually great, and I think the hip action was sometimes there, actually. But the performance was such a shock at how good it was!

Look, you cannot blame Dan for the results, he entered a competition the same as everyone else and has been voted for, so good luck to him. Its the judging and voting that's keeping him here. I agree totally about Cynthias voting for AJ, I wish we knew her reasons for it. Maybe they should have to justify the voting on the Sunday interview but Claudia is only interested in sounding cute and funny.

This was endearing and beautiful in its simplicity. Above all, I thought Dan’s partnering skills were brilliant in this dance. I bet Nadiya felt great dancing it with him.
