Hello everyone, we thought it would be a good idea to remaster our old Anne Boleyn video before releasing our extra-long Six Wives of Henry VIII compilation this coming week. After that, it's back to normal with more Monarchs, Nazis, and other interesting figures from the pages of history! We hope you are all well! The Team.

Anne kind of got the last laugh in the end in a way. It was her child who would be remembered as one of England’s greatest rulers.

My heart aches for Anne knowing she died likely worried about the fate of her daughter and little does she know that she did, in fact, become queen and was one of the best and most remembered monarchs in history.

Anne was a victim of a stalker. Henry pursued her relentlessly, while Anne tried to evade him; retreating to Hever. When she realized the King would not relent, she began to reevaluate her possibilities and accept them.

I feel as though Anne was trapped. Henry was obsessed by her and she was powerless to do much if anything against him. She turned his obsession into power. While I don't agree with with what happened to Katherine I don't think the blame can be placed solely on Anne for what happened. She did what she could in a time when women had no power and tired to make the best of what was happening around her and to her. While she was cruel to Mary I understand where she was coming from on wanting her submission and also trying to cement her daughters position as heir.

I feel really honored to have a entire documentary about myself. Thank you for that!

I always admire Anne Boleyn viewing her as a very modern woman who would have felt much more at home in our time as
a strong and independent minded woman, both intelligent and highly educated. Likely a woman who could have run for high public office today. She, like her daughter Elizabeth and earlier Eleanor of Aquitaine stand out as heroines far ahead of their very patriarchal times

Had Henry not executed Anne and constantly terrorized his future wives, thereby scaring Elizabeth off marriage, Henry would then likely have had the royal grandchildren and future monarchs to carry on his legacy that he so craved. But why are you portraying Anne as if she had a sixth finger? Her body has been dug up and did not have any such deformities. This is old Tudor propaganda spread by her enemies.

Always thought that Anne was very misunderstood and demonized. She was basically manipulated by King Henry who was so enamored with her. Not saying she didn't ruin Henry and Catherine's marriage but she's always the main person in the situation that gets blamed for what happened it seems.

It’s clear from Anne’s prior relationships that she never plotted or planned to marry King Henry. Why would she, he slept with her sister and likely fathered her children. How could Anne say no though and ruin her family and future. I think she did the best she could. It’s so terribly sad it all came down to having a son, imagine.

Anne Boleyn was intelligent, brave and knowledgeable. That's why she had lot of enemies. Accusing her of incest was an outrage. Henry VIII was an uxoricide sociopath. I loathe him.

Apparently Anne never had disfigurements and moles. These rumours came about after her death

I always thought Catherine of Aragon was the most royal, dignified, betrayed and disrespected royal lady ever. I’ve wondered if after her heart was broken so deeply and so often and constantly stressed and humiliated for his ego that she’d succumbed to cancer.
She was abolished for getting older, not giving him a son, and being better than him in the past. The kingdom loved her and knew she’d been cheated. Divorced unfairly, shamed, disgraced, mocked, placed in a rotting mansion with no chance of ever seeing her only daughter again.
Just the thought of it hurts my heart. She was a regal and true queen. She deserved so much better treatment. This abuse of Catherine in every unfair way leaves little wonder why her daughter would have been famous for her revenge on anyone who agreed with Henry VIII. Tragic.

These documentaries keep me sane, they always show that no matter what you encounter each and every day has done it all before!

It’s funny how they thought women couldn’t rule when in fact they ruled better and longer than most kings 👑

What has always fascinated me was Henry's complete lack of logic. If a time machine were such a thing I think it would be truly fascinating to question him about this catch 22: On 17 May 1536 the marriage of Anne Boleyn and Henry was annulled by Cranmer. This means that in the eyes of God and the public H&A were never married at all, as opposed to a divorce where there was an actual marriage that had later ended. So after the annulment Anne would have been nothing more than some commoner woman who was a temporary mistress of the King. How then could she be executed for adultery only 2 days later on 19 May? Adultery against who? How can you commit adultery if you were never married to begin with?

Hello The People Profiles, First of all, I have to tip my hat to Dr. Jacqueline Elliott for her research and teleplay. The second is to Gareth Johnson. His narration is easy to understand and is precise. Thanks goes out to all of the behind the scenes crew who bring these documentaries to fruition. Now, regarding Anne Boleyn. I have seen so many movies, TV series (not The Tudors or Reign) and read many books and articles about her. My opinion is much like Dr. Elliott's. I don't think that Anne was "looking" to become involved with Henry at all in the first place. I think that she felt that she would have been fine being married to someone a little higher ranking that she was. However, Henry's persistent and ardent pursuit of her, she possibly felt that she couldn't get away from him in the long run. She tried, but being "unattainable" just made him chase her more. Gee, that seems to happen quite a bit. I think that she finally gave in and then she saw her opportunity. I can't blame her for not wanting to be a discarded mistress as her sister was and Bessie Blount, plus a few others. Isn't this an age old story, older wealthy man (10 years in this case) pursuing younger attractive woman. The circumstances are timeless. Thousands and thousands of women did and still do the same. Anne's family couldn't marry her off since she had caught the king's eye. What options did she have? Could she have fled to the Continent? Probably not. So, she went for it. I'm just sorry that her story came to the end that it did. I do really think that Jane Seymour was not as innocent toward Henry during Anne's lifetime and afterward as history would make us think. I think that Jane seeing the situation was a schemer as Anne has been accused of being.

I'm always taken aback by how a woman's "ambition" is to this day seen as a deficit in her character. With men, ambition is not questioned; only the degree of ambition is remarked upon. Women are capable of the full range of human characteristics and desires. Considering how limited and restricted their lives were and continue in many respects to be, it is quite the achievement to even have any ambition under the tentative circumstances.

I think Anne believed what Henry told her about his marriage to Catherine of Aragon, and assumed it wouldn't happen to her. It was her first marriage, her first committed relationship, and she was probably sure of her hold on her husband. After all why would he ever cheat on her?
