Saw a video once that said 3 or 4 solar panel stations placed strategically around the US ( about the size of a football field) could provide electricity for the entire country. Clean...low cost to generate electricity.
The idea was squashed because it's more money in nuclear power.

Solar panel is getting cheaper. The problem is we use electricity the most when its night time when there is no sun. What really cost alot is storing the energy during the day to use for the night. With our current situation, Batteries are costly and extracting lithium is really bad for the environment. Manufacturing Solar panels isn't that all green and clean. And what happen when the life span of the batteries and solar panels are up. The cost to properly dispose it is high too. If it is to dispose irresponsibly, the harm it will make is really bad.
