You driving that 5.9 diesel up the mountain? Any issues mechanically? I'm headed east in a bit hauling a trailer with 2nd Gen 5.9 and this looks like my biggest challenge. Thankx!

Lived in Cheyenne for 6 years. Great times! Spent many days traveling this road to Laramie with family and friends. That section is beautiful. It is also the sight of some serious truck pile ups due to winter snow/ice/blizzard conditions. (Several of which one can see on you tube) When looking south just past the summit as you head East, you catch a few glimpses of the grasslands south that extend out right up to the foothills of the Rockies. It is an amazing view.

I have traveled on I-80 in Wyoming numerous times but mostly going eastbound from Utah to Illinois during the year 1990s and 2000s, and the highest elevation for the interstate highway for the entire USA, is 8, 640 feet above sea level is Sherman Summit on I-80 in Wyoming at milepost 323, which is 10 miles east of Laramie, and 37 miles west of Cheyenne Wyoming (or 80 miles west of Nebraska border). At milepost 339 on I-80 in Wyoming, you are entering the Great Plains, but leaving the Rocky Mountain by telling you can see Cheyenne, Wyoming's State Capital, and even Nebraska to the east if you are lucky, but the best view you can see it is the sun is at the west behind you as you are going east. There are plenty of snow fences along I-80 in Wyoming.

This is one of my favorite areas in Wyoming and you certainly did a great job on this video.

I went hiking in the Medicine Bow Forest when I visited a few years ago. Wyoming has some spectacular vistas and has a lot more to offer, besides Yellowstone Park.

The University of Wyoming's stadium is the highest college football stadium in the US. Imagine playing a game there (even without COVID)...

Wow cool, a part of I-80 in Wyoming that actually has more of a mountainous feel. I like it.

I always enjoyed this route when I was trucking long haul. This point really seems to separate east from West for me anyways

I live about 90 minutes away from the highest point on I-80 east of the Mississippi River, which is in Clearfield County, Pennsylvania. It is 2250 feet high.

Great video as usual. You're getting close to Cheyenne and missile country (the 90th Strategic Missile Wing is based at F.E. Warren AFB and has silos in WY, CO, and NE close to the I-80). Watch for AF vehicles!
