This made me feel very nostalgic. 57 years ago when I was in Primary School we learnt how to sew on treadle machines. The very first thing we learnt how to sew pillow case with a French seam!! Of course ours didn't have a fancy border around the top. Ours had an envelope top on it. I really like these beautiful pillow cases with the lovely borders. I make pillowcases for the kids staying at our women's shelter. The director told me they sometimes use them as gift bags for the kids. I have never used border prints but I'm going to order some fabric (no fabric store in our town) and sew some. They look so great

I have made many of these pillow cases, and always with french seams. I have not however made one with a border print. Will have to go shopping again, when the fabric stores re-open, or maybe order some online.
