No ballot was cast yesterday in Romania. Just two days before Romanians were set to vote in the runoff presidential election, the country’s Constitutional Court annulled the results of the first round. The decision, made during an emergency session on Friday, means that the entire election process will have to be repeated. Former Romanian diplomat Eusebiu Slavitescu joined TVP World to discuss possible scenarios for his country’s presidential election.

Romanian here:
Why did the Romanians voted for Georgescu?
Every other party has been at the leadership of this country since 1990.
All of them ripped the country off, and more than the others, PSD.
The fact that they actually had a chance for the 2nd stage of the elections, blows my mind.
Georgescu didn't need foreign intervention.
As soon as he ran as independent of all parties and promised a change, ANY CHANGE, the voters were on his side.
The Romanians abroad have ALWAYS voted against PSD by a massive majority.
Is he good? Will he do what he promises to? Are his changes going to be (or would have been) good for the country? We don't know. What we know is that the others are not an option! Not anymore! So tiktok or not, Russian support or not, he had the voters without it.
Regarding PSD, if the choices were PSD or Peppa Pig, Romanians would have voted for Peppa Pig. That's how rotten the PSD is. They have a tradition in buying villagers votes by paying them in cash or other perks.

We have lots of podcasts where Călin Georgescu was invited and he said that he doesn't want to take Romania out of EU and NATO, he just wants to negotiate the Romanian position, and he doesn't want to be involved in the war because he has to take care of Romania
