Ladies. When you meet a man, if his relationship with his mother is to the level where he would disrespect you to please his mother, you will never be the number one person in his life even if you have his child.

He will run to his mother when he argues with you, and she will not defend you against him.

They probably could have worked things out if his mother's mouth wasn't in their business. I just watched this episode yesterday and the defendant said he's a great father and loves his children. He said the same thing about his ex wife. I sense they still have feelings for each other, but mom probably told him to not work it out and since he's a wet noodle, he'll never have a life on his own terms.

MIL is probably part of the reason they got divorced and will cause problems with any relationship the son will have. MIL has not gotten a job or had her husband collect disability in at least 2 years!
