Road 289 or Preston Road used to be the cattle drive up to Sedalia, Missouri. It was the Sedalia Trail. It was also called the Shawnee Trail. Clint Eastwood would ride it on the TV show Rawhide.

What about Westcliff or Tanglewood area of Fort Worth? Looking into renting an apartment there but have never been in Dallas not Fort Worth. I’ve read that it’s a nice family friendly area with good public schools. Would you recommend it?

I am from Spokane Washington. We moved to Irving Texas spring 2020. I left Texas December 2023 right before Christmas. We lived in Texas for almost 4 years. I am never going back to Texas. It is honestly too Hot and crowded. My husband and I enjoy outdoor walks all year long including the summer months. ercot or power company always threatening to turn the power off or brown outs gets really old. We are planning on taking a trip to the beach and falls next year for vacation.

You should do an updated visit of DeSoto. They have some new large master planned communities now. Check out Tree Farms and Daniel Farms community in Desoto.

I’d say Grapevine and Rockwall are up there - similar demographics and amenities and great schools. I think these suburbs mentioned are great but all look alike.
