George Metesky is another good example of this. He was a bomber in the 50s that got caught because he couldn’t stop using the phrase “dastardly deeds”.

"Eat your cake and have it too" is not an accidental inversion, the whole point of linguistic analysis is that these personal turns of phrase are intentional. Ted didn't like "have your cake and eat it" because the inversion more clearly displays the contradiction.

The Unabomber’s inversion wasn’t accidental (after all, he was Harvard educated…and abused). It was his annoyance that the original expression was illogical—it made more sense to him that once you eat your cake you can no longer have it. His own brother noticed that turn of phrase in the manifesto and turned him in.
