This is a movie that advocates free-market capitalism and opposes government interference.

How old are you? Are you educated? Have you read the book? Do you or your family own a business? If you have been to college and finished you might be careful about the use of all encompassing words/ phases. Otherwise, the book is on so many all time read lists for a reason. The movie so far(part1) did a good job IMO expressing as the author intended.

for the "duration of the national emergency" reminds me of something in 2020, i wonder what it is

Atlas Shrugged is perhaps the most pro-capitalism movie to have ever come out. Have you heard of the book? Or even the book's author, Ayn Rand? She is a philosophically libertarian icon

screened this film last night, really liked it a lot. found it to be better than part 1 which I also really liked. looking forwads to screening part 3.
honestly, I'm surprised at the amount of universal dislike the critics have for this series, as to me it's a great action packed series of films with a powerful message. perhaps I have just answered why.

This movie is for telling the future if we continue to rely on government as a base of enconomic rise...rather than leave it up to the working man...when I watched part one opening day I was the only one in the theater...it freaked me out after leaving...I felt like I was being told a secret...its sad our society today would rather watch jersey shore the movie than something like atlas shrugged...there fore I don't feel bad when it all goes down....I know my mother ship is waiting to pick me up

I'm surprised they decided to make a part two considering how much of a flop the first one was.

The worst part of this movie series for me wasn't even the confusing cast change. It was the CGI arch before the bridge scene... My God.

A message to the future generations:

It's 2012 and Atlas Shrugged still sucks.

At least I’m reading the book before I watch this.

Indeed. However, she claimed to loathe libertarianism, which she saw as a political ideology without a moral or ethical basis. But, yes, I would call her libertarian.

first, i misunderstood the concept of this movie, so forgive me for that
2nd, every type of politics is flawed (Communism, Socialism, evan your Stalinism) i just tout this movie pointed out the flaws in Capitalism...
In fairness thou, out of all types of politics, Capitalism works best, evan when its not perfect
third, please don't jump to touts that i'm a 'Stalinist'?
I said very little to make you think that?
and by the way i don't come from the USA, so don't be quick to judge that too!?

I haven't seen this movie, but I did read the book. It's over the top extremism. It's the counter point to George Orwell's 1984. The ideal is somewhere in between. The US today is tilted too far to the right. If things went to the left some, not too far, but some, it would be perfect. But alas, big US corporations have too much power currently. (2022)
