I haven't read any of Rand's books (reading Atlas now), but I couldn't wait to see Part I and I loved it. Someone here said they didn't like it because it didn't represent the book at all - but perhaps people need to remember they are watching a movie and not reading a 1, 000 page book. I am grateful that 'someone' finally bit the bullet and filmed a screenplay. It mattered not to me that it was filmed as a hollywood blockbuster. The message is what matters, and it's sending the message.

Atlas Shrugged was one of the most inspirational films I have ever seen. It was true to the novel and I felt the actors were superb. I cannot wait for Part II. If is not too late to restore Liberty and Freedom in the United States, it will be because enough people are learning about and starting to appreciate the views of Ayn Rand, and why capitalism is the only form of government for truly free people. It is the only sustainable system that allows everyone the opportunity to succeed!

What stunned me about the promo interviews for Part I, by the financier and Beckol's brother, (who is one of the actors), is the difficulty they had getting anyone interested in making it, often paraphrased with, "I don't agree with the philosophy of the book..." How could anyone who believes in merit-based success, and I presume that includes the Suits in Hollywood, not agree with the ideas in the book? I look forward to Part II, if and when.

I really loved Part 1. I'd never read the novel but after seeing part one I went right to the bookstore, purchased it, and read it in less than two weeks (I have a full time job).
I can't wait to see Parts 2 and 3.

When I saw part I on April 15 then in Decemeber on DVD I rented the book from the Liberary and read part I and just finished part II, so profound. Atlas Shruggard gets better and better. It is impossible to tell which part do I like the are INDIVDUALLY specatcular. Readen's speech.

In my opinion, this movie has not only provided a moving moral for me and for other people, but has also spawned yet a second moral that has not been overlooked. Yes, the reaction to this movie has been overlooked, but not the moral of the reaction. What we need to learn from this is that, unfortunately, the Internet, as well as the world in general, has been infected with a bucketload of arrogant people, just going out into the world to make other people's lives miserable. We need to fix this.

Her philosophy has never been followed. She was a great writer considering English was her second lanuage. Her non fiction essays are even better. You really see her mind at work. She was one of the greatest minds of the 20th century.

I plan on taking the day off from work and go watch the first showing.
I have an idea that the plot will look a lot like Washingtonian con artists and backroom deals.
