I personally decided to forgo using them on my recent 5 day one bag trip to save weight. My clothes roll up so small & I travel light, that I had tons of space left over in my main pocket of backpack. It came super in handy as well since I got to the airport, forgot TSA has you remove shoes & I wasn’t wearing socks, so I quickly grabbed a pair out by feel and threw on socks as I removed shoes. If I had used a packing cube it would have taken a lot longer to access them. 😅

I resisted them for years and was a hard convert. I’m a super big fan of them now though and I have no plans of going back.
I suspect that most of the people who don’t like using them are guys because they don’t need to bring as much.

I won't be using them on my 2 week international trip, but if I was just going carry on then yes I would.

Packing Cubes are useless. Zip Lock baggies work far better and are way cheaper. They are clear making enclosed items easy to find, provide dry storage, don't need external labels or endless unzipping and zipping searching for wanted items. Too many cubes means your carrying too much, remember, your travelling, not moving in.
