Thomas Borgen has been CEO of Danske Bank since 2013, but started his career with Danske Bank started 17 years earlier. He joined the bank in 1997 and managed to advance at high speed. Just four years after he was hired for his first job, as a treasurer in Oslo, he was appointed managing director of the Norwegian Focus Bank, aged only 36.

In 2009, Thomas Borgen joined the Executive Board of Danske Bank and became head of international banking activities and Danske Markets. In September 2013, he was appointed CEO of Danish Bank, one of the most prestigious and influential top positions in the Danish business community.

Thomas is a member of the board, King Olav V Foundation and VP Securities A/S and chairman of Danica A/S.
