Earth 100 Million Years From Now

Earth's landmasses were not always what they are today. Continents formed as Earth's crustal plates shifted and collided over long periods of time. This video shows how today's continents are thought to have evolved over the last 600 million years, and where they'll end up in the next 100 million years.

Wow, the Indian subcontinent really slammed quickly into the Asian one, no wonder the Tibetan plateau and the Himalayan range are so incredibly tall.

Note:
The Cambrian, Ordovician, Devonian, Permian, Triassic, Jurassic and Cretaceous are NOT eras. They’re periods, which themselves are part of the actual eras, the Paleozoic (which includes the Cambrian to the Permian) and Mesozoic (which includes the Triassic to the Cretaceous, which you know as the age of dinosaurs)
The Eocene, Miocene and Pleistocene are also not eras, they’re epochs which are grouped in the Tertiary (Paleogene and Neogene) and Quaternary periods which themselves are also grouped in the Cenozoic era.

Sorry, I studied too much

I hadn't noticed the earth changed scenery so fast. 100 million years back out forth sounds a lot if compared to humankind, but nothing if compared with the earth itself.

I have a special connection with the Devonian Era. I live about 20 miles from the Rochford Fossil Park in North Iowa. A great place to find Devonian era sea creature fossils. (Braciapods, coral, etc)

I remember watching this around 2011 or 2012 when I was still in fifth and sixth grade at the time. Now I’m turning 20 years old this May. God damn, time flies just like the movement of Earth’s tectonic plates...

Um continente se separou em 3, cada um teve o seu rumo, e eles ainda estão firmes e fortes
