I have not seen the original in years since I hate that Lily bounces in the driver's seat while driving, and she struggles when she is arrested. And I refused to see this version in cinemas because of the black girl cast as Annie and the black guy cast as a reworked version of Daddy Warbucks. Long story short, I saw this new adaptation for free in November last year, and several songs, including this one, were surprisingly good. I did not even notice the new lyrics being different from the 1982 photo play, but I loved this new version of the song.
