I use 11-56 strings for literally everything, I find that it’s one the most versatile gauges, works in tons of tunings and feels quite comfortable.

Magnum Slinky's are underappreciated, love em

I use their 10-54's and they seem to work just fine.

I use 9s for C Standard on a full length strat neck. And I use 10s for C Standard on a mini strat length neck. I use 7s in E Standard for reference.

D'Addario flatwound jazz mediums are my fave! Pretty much identical but they're flats and actually sound so baller! I currently have my 7 string strung with the 7 string version of the set and tuned to drop F. Sounds so gnarly with distortion and super clean when dry.

I've been enjoying the sound and feel of 10s on C standard and C# on my ibanez superstrat, feels very easy to play and keeps me playing light

That’s the perfect gauge for c tuning 💯 before that set was made I used to get the not even slinky and would swap out the dead fence wire plain 3rd haha for a nice wound 3rd

Recommendation for anyone who's not sure what tuning they want to stay in, try the DigiTech Drop pedal that drops your tuning by half steps up to an octave.

Don't forget to consider scale length as a factor. Shorter scale length = strings are more loose. I use 11-56 for C but I wanna upgrade the thickest strings

I use 9-42 strings. Not far from Tony Iommi's C# gauges and allow for huge bends. To be clear, I only do this on my aluminum neck guitar so I don't have to fuss with neck relief and can retune to E with ease!

when I play in C# standard, I usually use 10s but lately i’ve liked the way 9.5-9s feel overall.

Definitely love the magnum slinky strings.

That would be a perfect set for B Standard tuning, at least for me.

I run Magnum Slinky's for standard tuning on my Gretsch to match the gauge that Malcolm Young used.

I currently use D'Addario XL 12-60. They're labeled "optimized for C tuning". Thing is, they're great but for heavier stuff I feel like I might want something that wavers a little out of tune when I strike the strings. I'm thinking Goatsnake... So maybe a lighter gauge. Probably won't swap though because I do multiple genres and my current strings are versatile.
