I was told at my job that if I did not call a man by she that I was not being kind. I asked how it was kind or doing anyone a kindness by lying. I said how is THAT person kind by insisting everyone lie for his feelings. I was told I was old fashioned and a bigot that I was being insensitive and denying his right to be a person. Heaven help us all when lying is considered an act of kindness.

Loved this homily. I live in central Minn. and grew up 60 mi. from the Canadian border. I have followed Jordan Peterson the past year. Pray for him. He is going through a big change in his life. He is challenging the Canadian government which is in quite a mess. I have no urge to go there anymore. Thanks for bringing up the need for honesty. God bless your church, my home, after Mass in my church. I’m a daily visitor!

Jordan Peterson is a beautiful man and has a such a holy heart. He was once an atheist, but no more...watch the video with Bishop Barron and Peterson... the Holy Spirit is working miraculous in Peterson's heart and soul. I am a fan also and I believe Jesus is using him to open up hearts and please pray for him and his family. Lord spare me from the ignorance and sin. Thank you Father O'Conner for being so brutally honest that we need more sermons like yours!!

Thank you for unpacking this Gospel, Fr Mike. So often we hear the story, we know that we have heard it before and we become prone to distraction during Mass (especially during longer readings). But the transformation that took place, the evolution of the faith of the blind man after he was touched by The Son of God is right there, nestled in the verses - man, prophet, rabbi and then Lord. May the Lord continue to use you as a mouthpiece to the world for His Glory!
