FOX5 SURPRISE SQUAD: 11 Year Old Inspires Small Town & Gets Magical Surprise!

A young girl, Emilee Giamanco, is in the fight of her life, as she is battling with D.I.P.G. – terminal brain cancer. Through her family’s love and a history of overcoming adversity, she is filled with strength and a will to fight this battle head on. So much that she has inspired her entire community of Boulder City.

With her 11th birthday just days away, the family was planning a small drive by parade, but the people of Boulder City had something else in mind. And, thanks to a heartfelt letter from Emilee’s aunt, Lori Tesch, the FOX5 Surprise Squad called in a few more friends to give this special birthday girl a magical surprise!

Emilee Amber Giamanco, age 11, of Boulder City, NV passed away after a courageous battle with Cancer.  She was born on June 18, 2009 in Las Vegas, NV to Joseph and Marissa Montoya Giamanco.  Emilee attended Elementary School at Andrew J Mitchell and Martha P King. 

 

Emilee was a kind hearted and compassionate girl.  She loved to have fun with her sister Natalee; putting on make-up, doing nails, and dancing to their favorite music. She also loved to have nerf wars and push her brother Preston on the swings. She enjoyed skate boarding and riding her bike and was into BMX racing.  She was very creative and loved to make and play with slime. She was very athletic and enjoyed gymnastics.  She loved to be comfortable wearing soft clothing and being surrounded by her many stuffed animals.  The one thing she loved more than her stuffed animals was animals mostly puppies.

 

Emilee is survived by her parents Joseph Giamanco and Marissa Giamanco; a sister Natalee Giamanco; brother Preston Giamanco; grandparents Joseph and Pat Giamanco, Daniel and Estela Montoya and Patricia and Jimmy Rodrigues.

 

Funeral Service were held on Saturday, January 16, 2021 at The Central Christian Church in Henderson.  Emilee was laid to rest in the Boulder City Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers please make memorial donations to Candlelighters Childhood Cancer Foundation of Nevada. Every time I hear DIPG my heart immediately drops and shatters. I pray for this sweet girl and I hope she continues to stay strong and fight!

Making memories is the best thing to do with this cancer!!! My friends great grandson passed this spring from this! He got sick and could not fight it sny more. He was only 3 years old! Good luck and our hugs snd prayers for Emily and her family!!
