That's a submersible, as it's purely battery powered and relies on a support ship. A submarine is larger, typically has its own powerplant for long duration travel and does not need a support vessel.

Quick question: What is the benefit of using a manned sub like this, putting lives at risk, compared to an ROV?

That controller for the arm looked awkward to use. Shouldn't it mirror the arms direction? Felt more like "move it left and it moves forward".
