I knew someone who raced. His dad had a Ferrari purosanque (or however you spell it) so I guess money helps a lot

If you are somewhat competitive, racing is always expansive. (A couple thousends per year at least) I don't participate in races, but I do many trackdays around central europe.
Track rent usually is 450€.
Faster semislicks like the Nankan AR-1 or Yokohama A052 last me for about 600km (3 days) lower performance tires like the Yokohama AD08rs last about 1500km (6-8 days). Lne set of tires is around 750-1000€ on my E46.
I use about 60l fuel per 200km/day, about 100€ per day.
But the most expansive part is traveling. my tracktool E46 is streetlegal, so no trailer needed. But most circuits are about 200-500km away from me, and this equals about one tank for one way, 100€. Usually I leave one day before and stay in a hotel for one night. Food + hotel equals another 100€.
My break pads last about 6 trackdays, and cost 800€ all around.
So per one trackday:
Tires: 200-300€
Fuel 2-3 tanks of fuel: 200-300€
Track rent: 450€
Hotel:100€
Brake pads: 150€

Total: 1100 - 1300€ (for one single day trackday)
Multi day trackdays are about 1000€ per day.
Racing is expansive, no matter how you do it!

When i get older, like in the next 5 or so years, i really want to get into NASCAR. And if i want to start in that amount of time, i want to start racing locally like NOW!
And i want to thank my uncle for getting me into NASCAR which started in like 2016 when he bought me a Earnhardt Jr diecast car. I have always loved cars, since i was 2 or so. I have 300+ Matchboc and Hot Wheels cars. When i was 2 and 3, i watched the movie Cars 2 times a day. The racing blood has always been inside of me since my beginning. I also want to thank you, Nick, for making this series for inspiration.

Now imagine what you spend on tires for a season, and that's per race on a motorcycle (which is why my cousin ended up giving it up lol). He was part of a racing club, ranging from newbies to racers that could probably put in a good showing in a smaller pro series, that did the road course at Pocono Raceway (yes, that Pocono Raceway lol). My cousin said in a weekend he'd go through 2, sometimes 3 pairs of tires in a weekend

My mates a long time bought a Mazda RX7 SA/FB for racing in the late 90’s for around 2 grand, slowly over time they had been developing it, and they had entered it in the state championship in theImproved Production Cars category, in 2004 they had spent a further 8 grand on the car so there’s 10 grand, in the Improved Production Car championship there were big 5 litre V8’s running around Bathurst or Sandown (tracks in Australia) so realistically we had 0 chance of winning the championship, but when it came to the final race, our RX7 beat the whole entire field by 10 seconds, however it was raining so you gotta take that into account, unfortunately it wasn’t enough to win the championship but we did beat the V8’s, which they were all really proud of, and the same RX7 from all those years ago, is in my profile picture from Bathurst in 2019, same owners and same drivers…

Make sure you upgrade the eccentric washers on the control arms, they round off super easy in spec miatas

Nick, I hope you made sure Tiggy had earplugs in when you read the expenses list, she would get upset that all that money wasn't spent on her with treats or toys 😭😭😂

To all the people who do actual racing, is it easier than racing in a videogame cuz I’m honestly scared because I wanna do this when I’m old enough and along with that Nick makes all of this look easy whilst making video games look hard
